As I strive to change my habits from schooling to Discipling my children I have tried to see our day in blocks of time. One question I ask myself either as I plan those blocks of time or as we go through our day being flexible with that very same plan –
What is the most important thing for this hour?
Is it housework, is it Phonics, Math, Bible reading, is it a discussion, is it getting the washing on the line, is it my phone calls or office work, is it reading aloud and having a good laugh together. What is my focus this hour?
At the end of the day I would like to say that each of my children have had one good learning experience for the day. That would be 365 experiences a year. WOW!
What would I consider as a thing learnt? A light switched on. A skill mastered a little more. A character trait stretched. A concept discussed. Keeping in mind that learning is continual even the most knowledgeable on a topic still has more to learn.
356 experiences a year! One hour at a time.
When my day gets overwhelming and I'm being pulled in all directions, that is exactly what I need to remember– one day at a time and one hour at a time! ~~ And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. – Galation 6:9Edited by drewsfamilytx on Jul. 28, 2005 at 7:59 PM
