I actively encouraging my children to prove and test things that they are learning. This morning I stopped the girls from heating up morning tea with alfoil cover! I quickly and firmly told them of the dangers of putting metal in the microwave. After questions of what would it exactly blow up the house? The kitchen? The microwave?
Josh said .. let's test that!
mmmmm…. his sense of humour is growing!
Oh no . . . lets not test that! My daughter fixed herself some left-overs for lunch a few weeks back. Not normally a big deal, except that she arranged it in a small, foil tray. After the first, pop! I asked, What was that? Just the microwave. (She thought it was the hot food popping, as it does when it really heats up.) At this point I ran into the kitchen to see a large spark that accompanied another, pop!. The only damage is a burn mark along the side of the microwave. Regardless, Id still NOT recommend that your girls move forward with that exercise! 😉
