Yesterday, Sunday 8th January, Jessica got baptised. Four months ago, when Joshua got baptised I remember making a statement (that I believe to be God given at the time) to a friend, that God had a special day for Jessica. Yesterday was that day.
Our church services during the month of January are combined with the other churches of the town and it was in this setting that the Churches of Kununurra were invited to share in Jessicas baptism. Though many of these people would have been invited due to being family friends, I believe there was extra excitement in peoples hearts with the baptism following a combined church service.
January is the season for rain and we have had rain every day over the last 2 weeks. We woke up in the morning and it was overcast with a cyclone, way down the coast but we get pulled into the weather pattern meaning more rain. As we made our plans the one thought that stuck in Petes and my mind the most was trust God. So we ventured out in the afternoon to have a time of fellowship after the baptism. God is faithful . The weather was beautiful. The sun came out, no rain, by the time we were done the sky was blue! We found a beautiful spot under a tree in a local swimming spot but no one else was there. The setting was calm and beautiful.
Jessica shared her testimony her own journey with God. She spoke well but more importantly she spoke from her heart. Peter and I baptised her with my parents both standing with us. When we came out of the waters, our friends and church family gathered around and many prayed and shared scriptures.
We then shared afternoon tea together and the kids had a swim. Jessica so desired a time of fun and play with her friends to celebrate her baptism that she was a little anxious over the rain, and even though we had made alternative plans should it rain, God was faithful and she got her hearts desire! God is good!
I love hearing how children grow in the Lord! Yeah!
Okay–now on to more important matters…LOL. We are in the weirdo zone–we NEVER change our clocks. I know we’re the only place in the USA that doesn’t. That makes us in either central or eastern time zones, depending on the time of year. I have no idea which, as I’m totally time zone disfunctional–in case you hadn’t already figured that out! hahaha! I can tell you I’m two hours later than Denver, Colorado! That’s about all I know! Whew! It is at this very moment 7:21pm on Sunday. I think you just posted, cause Jessica’s Baptism post wasn’t there an hour ago…soooo…the date of your post is tomorrow. Got it?! LOL And yes, I did get your birthday wishes on my actual birthday! Thank you very much!
Love,
Melissa
