Daniel discovered a Science Kit in the cupboard. He first made a cardboard racing car, which was powered by a inflated balloon. I told him all things that move are moved by power and asked him what gave his car power. He knew it was the air and could explain how and why the car could go forward and backward. Secondly, he made a paper/card plane once again using the push-out templates in the kit. He has been discovering how to make it fly by changing different flaps (there is a correct term for this that my pilot husband would know!!)
He has also found a second kit and is in the process of making a little kite.
Naomi has been busy colouring in a game board she is creating. She has had one sick day and a second day where she felt blah so she hasnt been doing too much other than reading and watching a video.
Jessica has done various things on the computer; the first that comes to mind is creating board game pieces. She has made a present for her friend, including a card. Jess has continued to be a great support in picking up around the house while we are all in holiday mode.
Joshua has been writing a story inspired by watching the cricket over the last few weeks. He has been measuring and recording the rain every morning. He spent a few hours at the library and came home with books on Historical Battles, The Art of the Catapult and Paper Airplanes. He has been reading and researching various things in regards to Catapults. He found a website that had war games games to print off and play by yourself not involving the computer so he was very excited about that.
Jessica, Joshua, Grandad and myself played a game of Scrabble together.
