When we were out for dinner the other night the kids were reading and Daniel was writing. He wanted us to write words he could then copy. I wrote Daddy loves Daniel. Not that he can sound these words out, he can become familiar with them though. He was delighted. He wanted to read more. So it was God loves me, Daniel loves Daddy. Jess then spent some time with him and other words. He is so ready to read.
Just before dinner Daniel comes up to me and says, Mummy, we didnt have my reading lesson today! So I promised after dinner we would do a lesson. He was so excited. So we did our Reading Made Easy lesson. He did very well, he wanted more but he was tired too so was quite happy to leave the next lesson till tomorrow. We may push though the next few lessons quickly as he knows his sounds already it is just the blending he finds difficult (due to his dyspraxia). Once we get to a lot of blending/reading we will slow down to 3 lessons a week and 3 days of review.
