Today, Peter took my folks and I for a joy flight! We became the tourists, armed with cameras we climbed into his little plane.
First we had to fly over the Dam – it is a huge expanse of water – you don't get to see how much water there really is when you are in a boat – but you do in a plane!
The dam is at least 20 times the size of Sydney Harbour.
Our destination was the Bungle Bungles- about 1 hour flight from home. They are an amazing rock formation. A sudden change in shape and colour from the surrounding hills/mountains. We all had our expectations – but the real thing was totally different than any of us had expected.
Even the western side of the Bungle Bungles was amazing. God's creation is truly amazing – such variety – such surprises.
On our way home we flew over the diamond mine – THE place for pink diamonds!
We had a fantastic time – though I must admit I got a little queezy just after the Bungles. But well worth it. Pete and I are all fired up now for a drive into the Bungles (aparently it is a rough road) and while camping there – with the kids – take a helicopter ride in & around the rocks. Oneday…
