Friday
The day started well with Daniel coming out with me while I hung the laundry and we went through his counting skills and making patterns, using pegs. I was surprised to hear, after having a very very long break from math lessons that he counted to 10 right the first time up; no stumbles, no guessing, no hesitations.
We have a family visiting at the moment they are living in their motorhome over at our shed. We have settled into a predictable routine over the week we do our lessons in our own homes in the morning and then join together for play and creativity in the afternoons. Today we decided to just be together, so I cancelled my plans for Character First and Book Arts and went with other creative projects.
I spent the first part of the morning with the girls (including the 3 visiting girls) doing some beading. We made beaded angels.
While we were doing that the boys had computer time and then went off searching for sticks and twigs out in the bush block next door. They came back very hot and sweaty!
So the next activity just had to be water play. We got the black plastic out, a bottle of detergent and a hose = lots of fun! They played there till lunch time.
After lunch I helped the young boys Daniel and JA to make a house. Daniel is making a 3d model log house. It is about 5 square. He is having difficulty using the hot glue gun so we called it a day till we can find a glue gun he can control.
Joshua and DA played a game of chess. The girls have done a book swap (between our two families) and settled down on the beanbags reading. The young boys settled for some Blues Clues video.
