Saturday – Today was cleaning up day.  I left the kids to do their bedrooms.   The idea was that they would help each other and show some initiative and responsibility instead of me telling them exactly what to do.  I went shopping instead!  I came back to find them very busy, happily getting the job done.    In order to try and keep the rooms this way we are having more follow-up when they say they have done their rooms every night.

We went for a swim up at our neighbour’s pool.  Lots of people!  Over the last few months I have noticed Daniel growing in confidence in the water. 

We came home, cleaned up and cooked pizza.  Jess worked the dough and the younger ones shared doing the toppings together. We have changed our pizza/video night to Saturday nights due to another commitment of Fridays.  We watched “Free Willy” and it was really a first for Daniel (though he had seen it before he is now of the age to really appreciate it).  It was interesting to watch him process all the emotions as we went through the film – he went from excited to sad and sometimes not knowing what he felt about such emotions!
