Wednesday 8th March

Everyone sluggish today – whether it is the weather or maybe it is just colds etc hanging around but not really visiting!  The weather is rainy – a day you feel like you should be in bed with chocolate and a book – except for the humidity which kind of robs you of the pleasure!

The girls were putting away the final bits of Christmas decorations (I’d left the angels etc around just because I like them so much!) when Jessie’s piano teacher walked in – we had totally forgotten!  Not to worry – Jess had her music lesson.

Then the piano tuner turned up so that was a little review discussion  there.  Not that the kids spent much time with him this year.

Nomi made more with Femo, Jess finished off the decorations and then we had a family room blitz.  How does that room get so out of control!

Josh worked on more math and then watched an ABC TV production on wartime strategies.

Everyone read books – Josh finished “Lord of the Rings” and discussed his notebook page/research topic.  Jess finished “Girl of Two Worlds” and gave me a oral narration in preparation for her notebook pages.  Nomi continues to read Pony Pal books, one by one!

Josh and Daniel worked on the science kit that went missing yesterday, and made 3 bouncy balls.  I must get them both to do a notebook page on that tomorrow.

For the afternoon activities I gave Daniel his routine – a word and a little hand drawn icon.  He responded really well.  He didn’t ask for things as much, he didn’t argue (mainly because he wasn’t asking!) and he was motivated to do the right thing.  He was very efficient ticking each activity off.  Definitely a winner!
