Tuesday began our very busy, very social week. We always enjoy our visits with the Garstones and always try and stretch our time.
MG and Joshua spent their time writing. Isnt that just the neatest thing to have a friend and to be a friend who can encourage each other in writing! They are into writing screeds and egg each other on.
The girls on the other hand flipped from on game to the other they started with Fimo, which we were able to cook before they left, and ended with playing shops. I am sure they had all sorts of adventures in between but I dont know what they were!
Meanwhile at the kitchen table the two mums had a great time talking and taste testing some new recipes I had recently been trying.
We had another play date in the afternoon – all this socialising gave us a good opportunity to talk about making our guest feel special, and working with that.
Wednesday was put aside to work on Daniels birthday party. We got the shopping done food, bits and pieces for our costumes and game supplies. Jessica worked on Joshuas costume making him a tunic. I really need to teach the girls to sew! Nomi worked a little on her costume. Daniel played with a set of knights and set-to to make them a castle from a box. While in town I bought him a material knights costume so he has been a knight all afternoon!
I have been trying to introduce my children the older ones especially – to Suduko. They havent picked up the magazine I bought them to take as a travelling activity book but yesterday I bought an electronic version. And guess what was on Today Tonight? Suduko. So their table time last night was spent working it out together and then Jess had a couple of goes by herself. I had a feeling an electronic version would work!!
Meanwhile Nomi spent her time writing a story and has written several pages and is keen to share it with me. Daniel drew a picture of Domino with his new textas. Daniel has been doing some copy work from one of his favourite storybooks. I am hoping this will increase his awareness that there is a pattern and order in putting letters together to make words and that it is not just a random thing.
