Friday friends come over to visit.
Josh and his friend played war games, and read non-fiction books together.
Jess and her friends initially did some scrap booking together and then just hung out together.
Nomi and her friend played some games like hangman and Apples to Apples.
Daniel and his friend played imaginary games with knights and space and blocks etc.
Me and my friend? Well, we just talked, and talked, and talked!
Saturday Joshuas birthday
The boys started their cricket season today. Joshuas age group are playing Double Wicket games so they can get some match practice. Josh did well, particularly with his bowling. 1 for 1 after 2 overs. (for those who dont play cricket that was he bowled 12 balls and got 1 person out and the other team only got 1 run from his bowling). Daniels age group is more into skills practice. His catching improved as the morning went on, he did well with batting and his throwing/returns are strong.
After cricket Joshuas 13th Birthday celebrations continued with having lunch with a family friend and Dad. The afternoon was spent reading some of the books he had been given. The evening was spent with more male-family-friends as they celebrated Josh entering a new stage of life young manhood (at 13)
The girls both did a big vacuuming job while the boys were at Cricket. Later in the afternoon they helped me get ready for Joshuas birthday party.
While the men (with Josh) where having their BBQ outside the kids and I watched a documentary on training tigers that had been reared in captivity to be wild hunters. I will be adding this to their writing opportunity list as they were all fascinated with different aspects.
Sunday A friend gets baptised
Josh and Jess have been asked to pray for a young boy who is getting baptised today. In preparation for this we discussed what is prayer, specific prayers and that we need to pray things that are in agreement with Gods heart. We also discussed that you can read Gods word as prayer.
After the Baptism there was the, what is becoming traditional, weed fight as all the kids went for a swim though most kids found it a lot colder than a few months ago! The Dry Season is here!!
Tonight Rick and Kimmy came over to celebrate Joshuas birthday. We watched Fat Albert while we ate Nachos and finished the night off with Ice-cream cake (everyone was on such a giggle-high we didnt really need any more sugar — But what is a birthday without birthday cake!)
