Why is that when you have an absolutely tops day the next day is always a downer? Today was one such day. Jess and Nomi werent sure if they felt well, dragging themselves through the morning. I sat down to do a devotional from Proverbs 1 with them and I just felt I couldnt focus with all the papers, and piles and stuff around. How could they focus if I couldnt! So we changed our plans and spent the next hour or so filing, sorting and putting things in their notebooks. Jess and I worked on Daniels, Nomi and Josh worked on their own, and of course, Jess was already organised!
Then the Trezona girls came for a play date. Jess and Rachel did beading, though Jess ended up being really sick and spent most of her time on her bed! Nomi and Rebekah scrapbooked the afternoon away. Nomi has come up with some great one liners for her journaling. Daniel and Jess drew pictures, jumped on the trampoline, climbed trees, rode bikes, played in the cubby and watched Ice Age. They havent played much together so it was good to see them playing well.
Early this morning Josh phoned Rick, a young boy whose passion is birds, and has raised many abandoned bird-chicks, to ask him what to do with the bird we bought indoors last night. They dropped some bird food off for us. After reading the instructions he decided to wait till Rachel came and showed us how to feed the bird, as they too have done this many times. Not only where they learning about the bird but they were using the skill to go to the experts, use other people in the community when you have a need etc etc etc. I was particularly pleased to see that they were able to go to other kids for this information and expertise.
So the bird has been feed, watered and given flying lessons!
