Friday afternoon and the Ag.Show is finally open! Due to other commitments for our family Friday afternoon is the only Show time for us this year.
We start off at 3.00 helping Reg Bolten (circus man) put up his tent and then practice and get ready for the show . Jessica was a performer in a little act. Nomi was a clown a naughty one at that! And Daniel was also one of the many clowns. Daniel also grabbed the microphone a few times to make an announcement. It never ceases to amaze me that he is not hindered in public speaking by his speech difficulty.
The other goal of course was to see how the children fared in the Pavilion with their creative projects.
Jessica got a 1st for a photo, a 2nd for a handmade album, and a 3rd for her quilt
Nomi got 1st for handmade felt bag and a drawing, 3rd for a handmade album, and a highly commended for some beading.
Daniel got a 1st and 2nd for photography, and 1st for his metal collage of a knight.
So they did very well.
This year at the Show they initiated a new Pavilion called Under 18s Pavilion and the theme was Why I love our group in the community. Our homeschoolers assembled a display showing both family life and interaction with the community, which I felt, was a great representation of our group. We won!!
So after seeing these few priorities we bought a big meal of fast food (and fairy floss) and headed home to bed!
