Wednesday – I think I can wipe Wednesday off as being a bad day!  I was major-ly distracted with office issues that I needed to complete for Peter – there wasn’t a lot, but it built up in my head!

What did the kids do….

There was lots of reading including Jessica reading to Daniel.  They listened to Narnia audios.  Josh read his history title and is taking notes.  He discussed this a little at the dinner table.  They watched a movie – this was great for Nomi as it had monkeys in it!  The younger two played outside – Daniel has borrowed a skateboard and this is proving to be a great challenge and fun for him.  The challenge isn’t so much can he do it – he has natural balance – but in getting better.  Nomi of course, won’t be left behind in this! 

We had a numbers discussion over dinner.  Nomi wasn’t getting what we were talking about so we bought out the Math U See blocks and gave her hands on.  She got it in the end.  Daniel wanted some math too so I checked to see how he was going in his counting skills  – he has been able to count 0-10 for a long time but I wanted to see if he saw a set of blocks as “6” blocks even if the configuration changed.  He didn’t need to count – he just new the amount hadn’t changed even though the “shape” of those blocks had.  So that was good.  Apparently, this is one of those basics that need to be understood.  We then finished with “taking away” as we packed his blocks away.  He knew that instantly – ie, without counting, so that was also good to see.  I think I will start him doing some Rainforest Math as a part of his computer time every day.

After dinner the kids had to get in and clean up that Family Room again – they obviously ignored that part of their 5.00pm clean up!  By the look of the mess that was there the kids really had a productive, creative day!
