Friday Today the Trezona girls are coming for most of the day 5 girls. As they pull up I suddenly realise the youngest is still in nappies and I quickly reviewed how long it has been since I changed a nappy 2 years, and that was probably the first in 2 years! Obviously out of practice.
After a little time for free play (the older girls actually watched the toddler for me) we sat down and watched a taped session of Portrait of the Stars with Rolf Harris. Afterwards we discussed how each of us liked a different painting, just as each of the artists actually painted different. We then read a story about a little girl who jumped into various Impressionist paintings. We then had a quick look at some of Pro Harts works as an Australian famous artists. Then it was our turn. So armed with plastic plates as palettes, and cotton buds as our paintbrushes we headed out doors (just like the impressionists) and painted some pictures. Rachel painted a portrait of Nomi, copying some of the techniques she observed on the video, the others painted scenes from our garden that they could see from their vantage point. It was a very successful time.
But changing diapers is so much FUN!!!! 🙂 We’re on our way to none! Hallelujah!
Have a good one.
Me
Out of practice huh – I reckon I could do something about that!
