Hello again to my blogging friends. It has been a long time since I have blogged.
This morning I was thinking back over the last few months wondering if I could summarise the high points.
Starting off with Christmas and New Year….
We continued to spend our days doing family projects with the goal of getting ready for Christmas. I am not sure that we ever “got ready” this year. Christmas came and went regardless of our preparations. The kids made some presents and we went shopping for others. We did very little cooking though the boys went up to a friends to make gingerbread-men.
Our Christmas day was spent with a nice balance of family time and time with Friends. The Christian kids of the town had been practicing a play for a few weeks. They performed this at the Christmas Day Church Service. The play was a re-enactment of Max Lucado’s story “The Crippled Lamb”. Josh and Jess played Mary and Joseph. Nomi played the crippled lamb and Daniel held the star in place. It was great to see the kids from various churches come together for such a project.
The week between Christmas and New Year was our family “down time” holiday. We had no expectations on each other, no schedule other than meal times.
Once January started we started what we are calling our “Wet Season” routine. The morning is spent on family projects and the afternoons are spent relaxing. Unfortunately we haven’t gone exploring the world or visiting people as much as we would have liked. I guess there is another month to go in our “Wet Season.”
The children received “Cluedo – DVD version” for Christmas so a few nights we have stayed up late trying to solve the mystery! It has been a great family game though Daniel has to partner with someone till he can read.
Hey there, stranger!
I had seriously considered calling out the troops to find you, so I'm glad your "back"! My blogging has been more sporatic as of late, myself. I do think of you often and I'm glad to hear you all are well. 🙂
Love,
Melissa
