Last Thursday the kids spent a day with another homeschooling family. After lunch together, they joined in with the family’s Bible Study. They are working on a Bible Timeline and after reading the story and discussing various points the children are making their own notebook page. The notebook page has to include a timeline figure and some copywork and then they are free to add whatever they want to (or not).
The activities for this day were centred around Noah and the Ark. They had fun acting out a play. Jess started off being Noah and though finished off with being “God”. Daniel was sound affects and Nomi was Mrs Noah. Mrs Noah’s famous line was “tooo bad!!!” throughout the play. Nomi got such a kick out of the timing of this one liner!
The kids went out onto the road to measure the size of the Ark. A local bloke stopped by to ask the kids if they were playing on the road. “Oh no!” they replied. “We’re measuring the Ark!” “The Ark???” and off he drove. Bit of a chuckle.
Daniel was so excited to have been doing “school” work. It is time for us to get ourselves back into a routine with some disciplines happening!
Joshua stayed home for most of the day to help his Dad finish off the paving job. They have been racing storms the last few days. Peter was very proud of Joshua’s effort – he couldn’t have done the job without Josh.
Late afternoon I took Josh and met up with the family who were off for their nature walk. Though they got caught in a bit of a thunderstorm the kids were so very excited when they got home. Nomi was quick to tell us that they prayed that God would look after them in the storm and He did, as thunder struck no one. It is great to see the children turn to God during their days.
