Yesterday all of the kids went to another homeschooling family to work on a project on Egypt. Josh and Jess have already studied Egypt but were very excited about doing a project with the other families. As they put together a box of resources it was great to hear Jessica give her reasonings for choosing each book. As she talked I realised she was making a lot of connections; connecting one piece of history to another, giving consequences and reasons. I was a bit surprised but very encouraged to see her with this understanding.
The project is going to be in the form of a TV Show – apparently by the Ancient Egypt Broadcasting Commission!! The kids are all very excited. They have one more day of practice and research and then next week we have the filming!
So anyway… What does a homeschool mum of 4, do with no kids for the day?
She goes and has coffee with another homeschool mum who also has no kids!
Then she has a lunch date with her husband and spend the afternoon talking with him.
She then races into town, buys some ingredients for dinner, picks up the kids and listens to their very very exciting day!
I have two more days like this ahead of me! It is really very weird!

My guess is that you probably missed them, too! How awesome. 🙂
