Daniel is waving a box of Chia around (very small seeds, like 1/2 the size of seaseme seeds), and as he waves he is saying to his sister, "Imagine what it would look like if the lid came off!"
Yep… You know what happened don’t you?
The lid came off.
Even this evening we continue to find Chia every where.
It was a good reminder of a discussion my mother and I had when I was a fairly young mum. We were discussing how we get cross with kids when they spill something and yet when we spill or break something, or a friend, or our spouse does, it is considered an accident and we move on. Ever since then I have been very aware of my reactions to my kids when they spill something – it takes nothing to clean it up – actually they have learnt from a really young age to clean it up themselves.
And yes, we laughed over the chia!
Love the question quote. Yes, asking questions is how we learn!
And your response to children's mistakes is so RIGHT. Why do we chastise children for the same type of things (if not exactly the same) we do ourselves? (Because we're in control and CAN.) A good reminder.
