Tuesday saw me sitting at the computer all day trying to declutter digital junk – my computer had run out of memory! This left Daniel to play most of the day by himself. He found some paper aeroplanes and pieced them together and had a great time flying them around the house.
While I was preparing dinner he decided to try and float an egg in salty water. He used a lot of salt but still no floating egg. So he decided that maybe the water needed to be seasoned – and he used pepper as well! I think he missed the scientific point but…. It was all experimentation based on an idea he had heard somewhere – and this is science.
Read my other blog about the learning that took place during Daniel’s day of play.
Tell your son to put in a pie pan of water pepper, cumin and whatever other spices he likes that has color. Then have him put a drop of dish soap on his finger and put just the tip of his finger with the soap in the center of the water/spice mixter…see what happens.
All the spices should 'run' away. You could make up a great story to go with this if you liked…maybe about fleeing from sin or bad company that would corrupt good morals??? Depending on how old he is. Enjoy, Lori
