Jessica helped out at Mainly Music again. She is really enjoying this time of service. She made a comment that as she gets more aware of what is going on she is starting to see the jobs that need to be done and can do them before being ask. Three hours later, when I picked her up she helped me with the week’s shopping and driving home we had a big giggle together. So it was fun morning for her.
Nomi’s big news today was she won a competition! She was stoked. I think one of the nicest things about this was the excitement Jessica had for Nomi – Since Jess collected the mail she couldn’t wait to hand over the parcel!
Josh, Nomi and Daniel played UNO today. I have chosen three games; Chinese Checkers, Numero and Boggle to put on the Coffee table. I find that when we have a pile of games actually sitting out for all to see we tend to play them more. We will have to rotate them frequently so we make use of all the games stacked away in our games cupboard.
Joshua continues to work on his own, regardless of what disruptions the rest of us face! Today he worked on his Math, Latin, Science and writing. He has started to think about his story for the local Book Making Competition.
This afternoon we started a Keepers Club (as in, Keepers of the Faith) with 5 girls, ranging from 9 to 13 Because it is a family affair we also had a little art thing happening with the younger boys (2-8yo) and the big boys (14-11) played chess. Everyone had something to do! The girls are busy finishing projects to put in the Ag.Show in a few weeks time.
Nomi is correcting a long stitch, and Jess worked on a patchwork.
It was a great time of talking – we talked about what God thinks of us, and the truth of things even when we have a bad day, we talked of learning from people with expertise, of following patterns, we talked about all the skills we could learn and the rewards we could receive.
One of the best moments for me, was when I asked the girls why we were learning these skills? Nomi gave the best answer: We are learning them so we can grow up to be skilled ladies, ready to be used by God.
