I just re-read my goals for Daniel’s boot camp – the key word is submission. My notes over the last little while have focused on his external behaviour (such as making wise use of his time) and though I knew that would be a consequence of Boot Camp I don’t want to lose my focus on my main goal. His heart.
The tricky bit over the weekend is that we have a different family routine and it is more in keeping with the types of things he wants to do. It is easy to obey when the parent asks you to do something you want to do. Actually that is not obedience. The true test of obedience, submission, is when we are asked to do something that cuts across our will – can we still answer quickly, no arguing, no complaining, no challenging, and do it right away?
My focus for the next little while is to get back to that key – submission (when he doesn’t want to do it!)
