Yesterday Daniel pestered and pestered me until I finally heard him and gave him my attention. He has wanted to sew on the sewing machine for a few days and I felt that it is only right that he learns the same way as the girls so he had to practice on paper first – needle with no thread. First he worked on lined paper following the lines. He has done really really well – He is ready to graduate to the next exercise which is sewing on blank paper, once again with no thread, just the needle and use the foot as his relative mark and keep his sewing straight.
He has been a bit bored with it all though so he has “sewn” patterns in the paper – stars, initials and pictures. I guess he is ready for the next step.
Isn’t this amazing – he can be delayed in so many areas and yet give him a machine and he is in his element!
On the weekend he is going to sew a pillowcase/cushion cover. The girls better get a move on and master this sewing machine it looks like we have a natural in the making!
