I had to be in the office today so we did our best with everyone keeping productive as best as they could.
Daniel finished making his backpack. Months ago he made a dilly bag but didn’t quite get it finished. This week he has attached two shoulder handles making it sit upright on his back like a backpack. He didn’t like the way it pulled on his shoulders when he put stuff in it so he sewed on 2 buttons on the straps making it join in the middle of his chest. It does appear to be more comfortable. He then cut another fabric and stitched it on for a flap and used more buttons to make it all secure. He did all the designing and sewing (on the sewing machine) by himself so it is quite a feat.
Nomi is starting a sewing project but … shhhh… can’t tell ‘cause she wants to surprise her grandma!
Jessica spent a lot of time working out html on a blog template as she would like to change hers around.
Joshua completed his school work and watched the cricket – which he is still doing even now, after dinner.
Early afternoon the kids had a visit to the dentist re their braces.
We have a winner with the read aloud. Friday night is traditionally our pizza and movie night but the movie always gives way to cricket. So tonight it was to be free time over pizza for half the family and pizza and cricket for the boys. But everyone decided to sit and have a read aloud instead. So it was read aloud and pizza – maybe the beginnings of a new tradition!
