I made another tweak in our Monday Routine this week.  Monday is our “Responsibilities” day though we try and get a little study in as well.  Today I tweaked our routine by making the study happen first.  It worked well.  We started with Bible study and then the kids did their own priority studies.

Josh – Math, Science

Jess – Piano, Math, writing

Nomi – Math, Typing, Computer studies

Daniel – Phonics (though he occasionally does Typing and Math as well)

I had a really good Bible Study with Nomi and Daniel.  We are starting a short study on the parables of Jesus.  Our lesson’s key words today was Hear and Do (we must hear God’s Words and do them).  We looked at the parable of the Two Houses.

It was our plan to head into town to catch up with my prayer partner, go to the pool, and the kids go to the library while I visited another friend.  But I felt the 3 youngest needed to stay home and just take it easy.  They had a few tasks to complete and then they got to watch a movie.  Josh went to the library though – he had both free time and completed his writing assignments while there.  I had a lovely afternoon – praying, swimming and then visiting!

We invited a neighbour down for dinner at the last minute so we stretched our dinner for one more.  The kids ate earlier as he couldn’t make it till around 7.00 so by the time he arrived we were in the middle of our read aloud.  We kept on reading and he was soon absorbed in the story, so much so that he too joined the kids in begging for more!
