I have been walking with the kids lately but no one is allowed to slow me down or talk to me. But today I went by myself. For the last half of my walk, I saw the storm coming, which made me walk all the faster but I didn’t make it home in time! I got drenched. One of the heaviest showers we’ve had this season and I was out walking! Jess kindly remembered me and sent her brother (Josh) out to find me with an umbrella. Usually our house functions on dam water, but at this time of the year it gets very smelly so we switch to rain water, which is precious. So while the rain was pouring down I washed my hair under the overflowing spout with the idea of reducing my shower time later on. The kids thought this was hilarious!
I got a date with my husband!! I was planning on going into town to buy winter clothes for our trip east. Then I realized that it would be better to buy everything except what we needed to keep warm on the plane down there. So I didn’t need to go shopping. So Pete and I grabbed a couple of hours instead, sat and talked at our one and only decent coffee shop and had a wonderful time.
We finished our day with watching a movie together – I fell asleep! The family have gone to bed early, nursing their colds, leaving me to some very quiet hours!
