This morning started with Daniel wanting to make words and sentences using his new THRASS magnets on the fridge. He started with “Sh, the dog is asleep” and we expanded it to “Sh the dog is asleep on the bed.” We sounded out the words together, he made spelling choices. When it was all finished he wrote it down in his notebook. He then played around with the words, made a few new sentences and wrote each one down. This is very exciting!
I dashed off around 9.30am to a ladies’ morning tea – giving my children a very structured and educational plan for their morning – watch a video!! So they had the morning off while I said goodbye to a very good friend (she is leaving town).
When I came home the kids were about to eat lunch but Jess showed me all the things she had done for me on my blog. Last night I put up a graphic which had a link to it and it seemed to mess up my template and this morning when I tried to fix it, I just made it worse! So Jess fixed it all for me. She also put a few blog ads on my left side bar. I have a webmaster!! Yesterday she found and sized a photo for Joshua’s avatar and is helping him put a few interesting things on his side bars too. She is learning heaps and doing very well. Most importantly, she keeps a calm head when things go wrong!
This afternoon the children have continued with their relaxed day with time on the computer and working on their creative projects.
Daniel pulled out his THRASS magnet tiles again and created a few more sentences, and then wrote them in his book. Just last week he learnt his alphabet (by name and without singing it) so he put it those magnet tiles up too – in order and has practiced saying the ABC!
I spent the afternoon cooking for another ladies’ night. Tonight I am gathering with a couple of my friends to pamper a mum who is about to have her fifth child. I made a pumpkin dip, a beetroot dip and a raw choc, cherry pie.
