I am sure that you, like me, when you were single you held these very strong opinions about what was and wasn’t going to happen in your household! Well one of my opinions was what was or wasn’t going to be on my fridge. Such a little thing – such a strong opinion. Nothing was going to be on my fridge, no finger painting, no school notices, no tatty edged photos – nothing!
But then along came parenthood!
When I saw Robin’s meme – I had to chuckle! Not only do I have things on my fridge but I had taken a photo that very day! So I had to post!
Daniel is just starting to put words together and when these new THRASS magnet tiles arrived in the mail he was highly motivated to make words, and then before long it was sentences.
So this week my fridge is telling the world that I am a proud mum of a little boy who has persevered through all sorts of difficulties to learn to read and is finding victory!
I also have a permanent display on my fridge – Character cards – giving definitions and examples of 36 different character traits. I refer to this chart all the time as I give instruction and correction to my children. Read more about Character Training here..
The third section on my fridge is the bits and pieces corner. We have photos of our sponsored children, and notes to myself – some are permanent such as Galations 6:9 “Let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” And some are of a more as I need it nature such as my shopping list.
Sharing this little part of me has made me realize – life doesn’t turn out like we expected – but it is definitely so much richer!
If you would like to share your story via your fridge – leave a comment here so I can visit you but also let Robyn know – Click here to visit Robyn at Heart of Wisdom – especially her Refigeration Meme!
