As I wrote in a post early this morning today was to be my MDO (in this case: Mums Day in the Office). I have achieved a lot but at the same only scratched the surface of what needs to happen in there.
The kids have had a great day with their dad. They fixed bikes, checking tyres for punctures, raising seats etc. Then checked the mango sprinklers for anything broken or clogged up. By then it was lunch time so they headed into town, bought some food that was no doubt on the unhealthy but delicious side of nutrition! By the time they finished all the town chores and got home there was a fire happening in the empty block next to us so the kids got the late afternoon off while Pete took the tractor and water tank down to help keep that fire under control. The house is in no danger – there are plenty of men helping out down there. There have been years that this burnoff has got close – and it is scary – this time Pete is home so that means I can relax knowing it is all under control!!
Jess is off to a team meeting for Mainly Music. This is such a great opportunity for her to be able to attend a meeting where they discuss what is working, what isn’t working, their vision, their practices and their rosters. Last time she got to a meeting she was a full participate with sharing ideas and concerns and offering herself for extra rosters. At 13 she does very well!
