While the kids were having breakfast I realized that I was going to go shopping early this morning. Well, that didn’t happen!! I finally got out the door at 7.15 (so I guess that is still early), Daniel deciding to come with me.
While shopping Daniel practiced his Math; counting to 20. We also discussed the difference between wants and needs and spending our money wisely. When you have only one child with you there is lots of opportunity to talk heart to heart. While we were fuelling up the car Daniel saw a bird he had not noticed before and we regretted not having the camera. He took careful note of the characteristics so he can check it out in our bird book later on.
Once we got home the kids unpacked the car with all the weekly groceries and we had morning tea together.
While we were away Josh helped Jess with a science experiment all about acid base and chemical reactions. She needs to talk to Pete to get a real grip on what was happening there. Josh helped her as he has done this experiment before though he doesn’t say he was needed much. I guess Jess is pretty proficient in the kitchen which will mean she can follow a chemistry experiment instructions fairly well too!
Jess is on the morning tea roster for Mainly Music morning tea. She made a raw Mango Pie while I was gone. Since I’ve got back (as I had to buy some of her ingredients) she has made a savoury biscuit and a slice. She actually made a double batch of the slice to have with her friends at afternoon tea today.
Josh has worked very diligently, not only with his school work, but also a few extra jobs, and helping Jess. We have just changed over from daylight savings so his body is waking up early early and getting into it. He started school this morning at 7.00am.
Nomi completed her math and art. She also had another computer lesson. After A.BB left Nomi continued with some computer assignments.
Daniel had his language lessons – drill, reading flashcard words and practicing sentences (saying them correctly).
I don’t really know what happened after that – suddenly it was 1.30 and we had ½ hour before friends were visiting. These friends are ex-local people, a homeschooling family, who have been traveling Australia over the last 11 months. They are relocating permanently so we will miss them all over again. The girls were so excited to be seeing their friends again.
The afternoon has consisted of dressups, dancing, lots of silliness, and outside games. They have had a ball.
That sounds like a full and wonderful day! You have a very colorful & pretty blog! Holly
