For many years we have, with a few other homeschool families, met together to help the girls learn homemaking skills. We have followed the manual from Keepers of the Faith with their programme Keepers at Home.
This week we got together with one other family, who have two little boys, and along with Daniel started our first Contenders of the Faith project. Contenders is the boys version of Keepers. Daniel was very excited to be learning something with a few boys “his” age.
I chose knots as our first project. We are only going to get together monthly so the boys have 4 or so knots to practice on over the next few weeks. The final project will be a board that they can hang on their wall as a reference to the knots they know how to tie.

The afternoon was made even more exciting by the fact that Daddy
was home early able to give some practical applications of tying tricker knots –
tying down a load on the trailer, tying up a horses back leg so the vet can take a look!
