Just before dinner last night we (Peter and I) found the office full of kids all waiting for Nomi to deliver a surpirse. She insisted that we walk out to the dining room with our eyes closed and holding hands. When we opened them we saw …
Nomi had set a table for two, decorated with candles and flowers (including flowers sprinkled on the placemats). The lights were all dimmed and music playing.
We sat down and she served apple cider (leftover from dinner with friends last week!) and our dinner. (Which Joshua had cooked.) The kids then served their dinner and took it off to the family room to listen to an audio story.
As we sat there we had to have a chuckle…. The reason I asked Josh to cook dinner, and gave them permission to eat in the family room was so I could skip dinner and keep working in the office. But here I was having a candlight dinner!
