Another great article by Jasmine – warning against stereotypes; Advice for the newly joyfully at home. Though she writes to young women it is something that mothers of daughters should be reading too – have a heart check that there is nothing that we are doing that is helping our daughters not be honest with themselves in their quest to glorify God.
Linda shares how moving from the ‘whys’ to the ‘hows’ has helped her deal with the health and learning difficulties in her home.
We look forward to Steve Grace’s tour – and uphold him and his team in prayer as he tours Queensland at the moment.
I’m actually trying to read less on the internet and more into books: So I thought I’d also share the books I’m reading and the words on the back cover that grabbed my attention making me want to read the book. Once I’ve done reading them I’ll be able to give a review proper.
1. Grace Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel – a map for learning to see ourselves and our children through God’s limitless tenderness – to raise our kids the way God raises us. As we embrace the grace God offers us, we begin to give it – creating a sound foundation for growing morally strong and spiritually motivated children.
2. Transforming children into spiritual champions by George Barna – The church must begin to come alongside parents and equip them to provide their children – at the earliest age possible – with biblical precenpts that will protect them from a barrage of worldly ideas and teching that is hostile to the biblical worldview. (Biblical worldview means learning to think and act like Jesus)
3. Real Leaders don’t do Powerpoint by Christopher Witt – Drawing on his years of experience in coaching executives, Christopher Witt shows you not just how to make a speech but why and when you should make one.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
