In Western Australia it is school holiday time once again. Though we dont do school (and therefore cant take school holidays LOL) we do benefit from a change of pace. School holidays are a good time to catch up with people, especially those family friends who do go to school. So we change our routine, change our goals for our day, catch up with friends, and have a bit of a break.
My goals for this study break are:
- For the kids to get a good start on making the presents they want to give at Christmas.
- To work on Reading Journal skills (well do this together with a family read aloud)
- To help Daniel be productive with his mind and hands.
- To get some decluttering and backlog caught up around the house
I have one week to do this!! We are actually taking 2 weeks break but the second week, the kids will be at a friends place as Pete and I are going away.
Rough routine for the next week:
6.30 wake up times (a little later than usual)
8.00 Family time
8.30 Girls work for pay and piano practice
Daniel time with Mum
10.00 Kids start on craft projects mum available to help
mum also work on phonecalls / hotspots decluttering
11.0 mum in office (no interruptions please)
kids creative / free time
12.30 lunch / read aloud / chores
1.30 reading journal from read aloud
2.0 reading time for all (including Mum)
2.30 Mum Project time (limited interruptions)
Kids creative / free time
4.0 Nomi and Daniel outside (Sibling time)
Jessica possibly work for pay in office
Mum Creative time / supervise Jess in office
5.0 Chores
6.0 Family time / dinner
7.0 Dishes (Mum blogs)
7.30 prayer and conversation
8.0 Mum Creative time / relaxation
And of course all this goes out the window when there are appointments in town or social commitments!
Notes: Joshua continues with a full day of study. We must remember to not distract him from his main objectives. (This is a new situation for him and us, where he is committed to programmes outside of our family and homelife.)
I’m really enjoying this Mum – thank you for being so intentional about it! I am really looking forward to hitting the family room tomorrow to declutter it!
