Sometimes in a family it is easy to think that core beliefs will be passed on by osmosis. But we all need to know what we believe and why. Everyone needs to make their own personal decision and have their own personal relationship with Jesus.
The Apostles creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
When we know Jesus it will change our life. John 14:6: Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” The world tells us that there is more than one way, that there is more than one truth. This is not what Jesus said. What will we believe?
