Let marriage be held in honour among all …(Hebrews 13:4a).  This is not the view that we see around us today.  Marriage is under attack, here is another aspect of our life that we must consider from God’s perspective.

Marriage was designed by God for the good of man and woman.  Marriage is where a man and a woman commit to living their life purpose together.  They make a vow in front of God and man to honour that commitment.  Matthew 19:6  So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.

Keys that I want my children to understand about marriage are:

• Look forward to marriage, join with me, as I pray for the partner that God has for you and for the life that you will have as one.
• Prepare yourself now to have the skills that will strengthen a marriage:  serving, talking and listening, forgiving
• Keep yourself pure in body, soul and mind for your marriage.

The Bible is full of wisdom for maintaining healthy relationships and each one is applicable to marriage: Love, honour, serve one another.  Practice hospitality. Don’t be proud.   Live in harmony.  …  along with many other injunctions.
