Success is meeting up to the standard you are being measured by. Whose standard are you using? The world’s definition of success is measured by ability, beauty, intelligence, money and popularity. God though has a completely different measuring stick.
“He who pursues righteousness (close & right fellowship with God) and love, finds life, prosperity, and honour.” Proverbs 21:21
Following God requires that we will be different – we are not of this world. We will have different priorities, different methods of operation, different passions. This different standard may cost us – it may cost position, promotion, or popularity but what do we gain?
… the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law Galatians 5:22-23
The world is in pursuit of stuff – clothing, food, shelter and all the better if these things bring along a sense of prestige. God says though – seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33
The world is also very unforgiving with failure. You can be cast aside in a flash. God on the other hand is forgiving and promises never to leave you nor forsake you. Hebrews 13:5

Excellent post. I love how you contrast the ways of the world with the ways of God.
this is a good reminder for me Mum! Success, measured by God, is about following Him and His Kingdom. He doesn’t measure like the world does.
Love you
