Do you say these things to yourself?

This is something that has to stop. Comparing ourselve to others is not healthy. It is not wise. It is not helpful.

Comparing yourself hurts yourself and your connection with the other woman. We need to rise above the temptation – and take our heart to the Lord and ask him to work on your lack of self acceptance and contentment with your circumstances.

Have we learnt to be content?

It is a often quoted scripture and yet can we say the same as Paul – really say it?

I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Paul is talking about God’s provision. Whatever comes Pauls way, he will know that God strengthens him.

It isn’t about God giving Paul his every physical need – but rather God sustaining him in all seasons of life.

The same is for us as parents. God doesn’t promise a rose garden with our kids – but He does promise to sustain us, He does promise to never leave us.

Take your eyes off what others are doing - and focus on Jesus

THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVES INSIDE OF YOU TO HELP YOU WITH JUST THIS. Living with constant comparisons going on in your head is not how God wants you to live.

God’s purpose is for you to walk your life growing to be more like Jesus – not more like another mum!

Jesus loves you, redeemed you, and restored you into relationship with Him – and He is with you to help you walk a life that worships Him.

We need to learn to take our eyes off other people and onto Jesus.

Let’s get this message out there!

We need to change what's happening in our heart

When we are tired, uncertain, or overwhelmed it is easier to see someone else’s successes, and our own failures. This is when we need someone to get along side of us and remind us to keep our focus on what is true.

We need to remember that God has made us both unique and in His likeness. He has given us capacities, abilities, and background stories all of which shape us into who we are today. We are different than anyone else – and our journeys will be different than anyone else.

Can we accept who we are and embrace another woman who is different than we are without feeling we all have to be the same?

Can we trust God with our journey and celebrate someone else because of theirs?

These are big questions but they get to the heart of it!

Being different is not the problem

Each family is unique, with its own set of challenges, joys, and milestones.

While one family might thrive on a strict routine, another finds freedom in flexibility, and that’s perfectly okay!

Being different is what brings a richness and depth to our communities. We need to learn to be okay being different as much as we need to learn to accept another family who is different than us!

Being the same would indeed make this world a dull place. Celebrate your family’s unique story and know that it’s your differences that make you special.

Let’s support one another’s journeys, no matter how varied they may be. 💖
