Today started off so promising – I woke the kids telling them had to move today as we were going to the library early. They had actually packed their bags and collected their books last night in order to be ready this morning. Then plans changed. Pete discovered that the cockatoos had eaten our trees! He was not impressed. So we needed the kids home on Cocky patrol to shoo them away. The kids were very flexible and gave up their morning at the library. From then on plans changed every couple of hours.
We did end up getting the kids to the library just after lunchtime, but as I said plans kept changing and Joshua’s cricket training was cancelled so they all came home with me after only 1 ½ hours at the library.
The kids love going to the library. They pack their backpacks with the work that they can do while at the library and these days they also take a Memory stick so they can use the computers and bring their work home. Though they had work to do today they spent most of their time reading and discovering books. A good thing to do while at the library!
We picked up the promotional brochure for the yearly Book Making Competition the library runs. The kids have entered (and done well) every year. Their thinking hats have to go on as they have 6 weeks to write a story and create a book!
